Author Reine Dugas

Reine Dugas smiling, wearing a black shirt, hoop earrings and black-rimmed glasses.Reine Dugas is from New Orleans and teaches English at Southeastern Louisiana University and Tulane University. She’s taken students to Italy for several years with Southeastern’s study abroad program, and has been a faculty member with the University of New Orleans Writing Workshop in Cork, Ireland and the Montpellier, France program. She is Assistant Editor of Nonfiction for Louisiana Literature and Editor-in-Chief of Hot Redhead Media. Recently, she joined Heather Fowler as cohost for the podcast, Booktails — a show about authors, crafts, and cocktails. 

Her nonfiction includes food writing for Chef Emeril Lagasse, travel and personal essays, and scholarly essays, many with a focus on Eudora Welty. Her fiction has appeared in Arkansas Review, Deep South Magazine, South 85 Journal, and The Dead Mule School of Southern Literature to name a few. One of her stories was nominated for a Pushcart Prize by Deep South Magazine.

She lives in New Orleans with her son, cat, and a dingo named Louie.
