Oleb Books Announces Its Disability Travel Essay Contest
Oleb Books is looking for the best disability travel stories that draw heavily on the writer’s past to reveal the lessons of a lifetime through a trip.
We want to hear about animal encounters, surprisingly tasty food, and about moments where an inadequate translation led to a few good laughs.
Word Count: We are looking for pieces that are a minimum of 800 and a maximum of 5,000 words.
Pay: Each selected author will receive $150 for their essay and will be published in our travel writing anthology.
Deadline: We will begin accepting submissions on February 10, 2023 and will close the submissions review cycle on April 10, 2023.
Submissions: Please submit your RTF or MS Word document as a file attachment to info (at) olebbooks.com. PDFs or links to Google Docs or 1Drive will not be reviewed.
About Our Contests
As one of a handful of disability presses in the world, we receive hundreds, and even thousands of submissions for each of our competitions. Due to the large volume of entries, we are unable to provide feedback on any manuscript. For general questions about our work, please check out our F.A.Q section.
